"I was recently graduated from college and needed a solid and reliable car to bring with me across country. I needed to do it on the cheap and so was not expecting anything great. Imagine how surprised I was when I found a beautiful 4X4 Honda in great condition for under $8000.! And, Joel, the salesman didn't try to powersell me the car, but gave me the straight story on it's strengths, etc. I thought I'd have to settle for a piece of junk, but I went to Auto Link, Inc in Hamilton, VA and I'm driving out with exactly the kind of car I wanted."

"Dear Mr. Lyles & Auto Link Team:

I'd like to thank you for your professionalism, attention to detail, and smooth transaction with regard to the purchase of my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic on 8 February 2006. As you know, this automobile was purchased as a first vehicle for my daughter who will be receiving her license in April of this year. For me it was imperative to have confidence in the workmanship/quality, and overall safety of the vehicle my daughter will be operating.

Thank you for providing me with peace of mind as well as a efficient & painless purchase process. I look forward to my next purchase with the Auto Link team.

Best regards, "

BEACH FORD

Dear Joel,

On behalf of the entire Beach Ford and Barton Ford Lincoln-Mercury family, we would like to thank you for your assistance and counseling with our used operations. Your recent visit was informative, to the point, and your suggestion to implement a different type of display was very useful. Your common sense approach has helped us a great deal. The first month after your visit, deliveries increased 50%. Things are moving along.

Your knowledge of the wholesale industry dealing with the variety of auctions that you access is remarkable. I believe your ability to locate hard to find pre-owned vehicles is outstanding and would benefit any automotive dealership looking to improve their used car operation. Your recommendation to refurbish our showroom was one that we took seriously and we began to work immediately. This effort was instrumental in the on-site evaluation required by the Ford Motor Company initiative for Blue Oval Certification. Beach Ford is the first dealer in the United States to receive this prestigious award.

We are looking forward to diversifying our inventory beyond dealing primarily with Fords and we hope to utilize your ability to purchase vehicles at various auctions.

Your energy level is amazing. We fully expect to continue to seek your counsel and expertise in this field.

Your friend,

Thomas A. Barton

Commonwealth of Virginia
Office of the Governor

Dear Mr. Lyles:

Congratulations on your appointment to the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. This appointment is both an honor and an achievement that reflects your long years of experience in the motor vehicle sales industry, your dedicated commitment to your community and your concern for the welfare of Virginia’s citizens.

As a member of this board, you will play a key role in regulating the activities of Virginia’s motor vehicle dealers. Like other professions, there is every reason to believe that Virginia’s automobile dealers will set higher standards for themselves that those set by government. At the same time, creation of this board will relieve dealers of unnecessary government interference

Despite claims to the contrary, creation of the Board comes as a boon to consumers. The activities of the board will further ensure consumer involvement in motor vehicle dealer issues and consumers will continue to enjoy the same protection under the Consumer Protection Act, Lemon Law and Odometer Law that they have always enjoyed.

I am confident that creation of this board will be a win-win situation for both consumers and private industry. It represents a fundamental change in the nature of the appropriate role of government versus the private sector and citizenry at large. And, it represents, in my view, a major opportunity for the motor vehicle sales industry to further increase its level of professionalism.

I look forward to working with you as we set up this board and shift DMV’s regulatory responsibilities to their rightful place—in the hands of Virginia’s citizens.

Sincerely,

Robert E. Martinez
